Our Mission

Together we weave the sacred into the tapestry of our beings, our communities, and our world.

The Andean people and land have been woven together for thousands of years. In this time, the people and the land have developed a sacred relationship rooted in Ayni – sacred reciprocity. Here in the Sacred Valley, that relationship is strikingly palpable. The land feeds the people, and the people feed the land. The result is a vibrant culture, a healthy landscape, and a thriving spiritual power that can be felt in every corner of this magical land.

Born out of a desire to deepen our felt sense of connection to the Earth, and to touch and feel the hands and hearts of the people we meet, Awamayu invites you to experience this sacred relationship. Together with the people of the Andes, we are weaving a shared vision for a thriving world. We co-create experiences that cultivate authentic connections between conscious individuals and the people, culture, and land of the Andes. We practice living in Ayni with the land that sustains us, with each other, and with our Quechua brothers and sisters.

Our Guiding Principles

Sacred Reciprocity (Ayni)

Ayni is the heart of the Andean teachings. We receive with grace, and give with pleasure. Above all else, we learn to say thank you.

Harmony

Inner harmony = outer harmony. By embodying the Andean teachings, we find harmony within ourselves and thus, are capable of creating harmony in the exterior world.

Sustainability

We are committed to living a sustainable lifestyle that protects our ecosystem, preserves natural resources for future generations, and improves our community’s quality of life.

Holism

In essence, all life is intimately woven together from the same thread. No individual can exist independently of the whole, therefore we are motivated to benefit the whole, which will in turn benefit us all.

Committed to Sustainable Tourism

Awamayu is an advocate for economically, environmentally, and culturally responsible travel experiences. We are committed to making a lasting impact in the Quechua communities with whom we work and use a sustainable tourism approach to do so. Our goal is to foster meaningful intercultural experiences and support Andean culture. We strive to understand the needs of the people by working directly with local leaders on constructive community initiatives, empowering these communities to improve their quality of life and well-being on their own terms.

As we weave ourselves deeper into the fabric of the Andean way, Ayni is the thread that holds the tapestry of Awamayu together. And as we step into this relationship together, we begin by saying thank you.

Añayki Kuyaki.
